Reason #3 (It Gets Us All)

Every once in a while you hit something right on the head, right off the bat. In most cases, it’s a process.

Which brings us to reason #3 why people fail at fat/weight loss or body recomposition in general:

They give up too soon – Chances are the first time you do something the outcome may not be on par with what you had expected. In fact you may outright fail.

All too often people let the first roadblock, setback or plateau be the end of their trying.

In 99% of cases, success does not come overnight. In fact many a successful actress or business person will say a variation of “it took me (insert number of years) to become an overnight success”.

New Way Of Thinking: Be patient. Easier said than done I know.

Instead of jumping from workout plan to workout plan or diet to diet, really dig your heels in and see what YOU truly need to focus on.

Truth: One bad meal won’t make you fat.

Equally True: One “healthy” meal or good workout won’t make you lean.

Unfortunately, most of us have done some damaging things to our metabolism with prolonged extreme dieting and “insane” (<- not the same as challenging) workouts.

If your goal is to lose weight the right way: no starving, eating REAL food, focusing on fat loss vs just weight loss, then it will take some time for your body to reset and function properly. Allow your body that time even though you want it NOW.

Side note: The “hard core” trainer in me does have to throw out there that sometimes we *say* we’re doing “really good” on our food but we are still nibbling on things or slipping in way more unsupportive foods that we are accounting for.

Or perhaps our ‘Beast Mode’ at the gym is really only a 15 second clip for snapchat…..IJS

Therefore, our slower than desired progress could also be a result of needing to be real with ourselves a bit more…hey, no judgement, I do it too but until you get honest you can’t get progress.

Okay, back on task; If every day you are doing the things that lead you closer to your goal, being real with yourself and doing the work. Time will catch up with your efforts.

Quote of the day: Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. -Thomas Edison
