Avoid Fat Spillover Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is a big eating day for a lot of you. Tons of carb loaded dishes and sweet treats. I know some of that stuff you only eat just this one time each year.

The last few emails I’ve been talking about the fact that you can’t outwork a bad diet, and that is still 100% true. So am I here to tell you to not eat all that delicious food tomorrow? Nope. Lets be real, it’s happening.

I think it’s unrealistic to expect anyone to eat “perfectly” 100% of the time.

And my idea of eating perfectly (and science backs me up) actually INCLUDES treats and indulgences.Woman trying hand to zipper her jeans

The trick is to do it the right way so that all your hard work to lose fat is not undone by one day or 4-day weekend.

So here’s one rule of splurging I try to follow at least 90% of the time:

If you’re gonna splurge, then you better sweat!

In my program I encourage my clients to take at least one full day off from working out and one day off from structured eating (like we talked about in Mondays email). But not the SAME day for both.

So either workout and splurge, or take a day of rest and keep the eating in check.

By getting in some high-intensity work before you sit down to a splurge meal(s) you will help your body use the flood of sugar to recover versus taking it and storing it as fat on your body.

I’m gonna guess that you DO NOT want fat spilling over any part of your body correct?

But if you don’t have time for a full-out workout and still want to have your splurge day work for you and not against you, just a few minutes of high-intensity full body exercise will do the trick.

A circuit as simple as:

100 jump rope jumps or jumping jacks
20 Body weight squats
10 push-ups
Done as many times as possible in 12 minutes will do the trick

I’ve also recently made a couple of under 20 minute workouts that you can do tomorrow morning and help your body avoid the fat spillover effect.

You can find them here:

Ideally you would do one of these 1-2 hours before your first splurge but don’t stress for now, just get it in at some time during the day.

After you’re done go enjoy your day! Eat as you please with no guilt and then get right back on it the next day. This is a lifestyle not torture or punishment. Live your life!
