For years come January every fitness business in the world was telling you it was time to make a resolution.
But these days the trend is for everyone to tell you NOT make a resolution and I have to admit, I’m more in the camp of the latter.
Why? Simply put, you’ll most likely fail.
I’m not trying to be a negative Nancy and I have total confidence in you but the numbers don’t lie, 88% of people who make a resolution fail.
But are some people taking the anti-resolution thing too far?
A very well respected fitness person I follow (and I do really LOVE her stuff) said that goals with deadlines were not necessary. That you should live with intentions ONLY and let things happen. That deadlines were too much pressure.
Um ok, let’s put the brakes on this a second. That may be a little too extreme.
I do not believe you should go through life without ANY goals whatsoever.
That is a recipe for a mediocre life if I ever heard one.
If you never give yourself a direct goal, purpose and deadline you would just flounder around and accomplish very little.
Your life would be left to time and circumstance. Humans naturally take the path of least resistance, so if we never set a goal or give ourselves something to work for we’d all be in a drive through most nights, and we’d all probably skip more workouts than we make.
So while I may be anti-resolution you DO have to have:
A detailed goal(s) – What exactly is it that you want to have happen or that you want to achieve?
A Purpose – Why? What is reaching that goal important and what will it bring you in life?
A plan – How will you do it? What tools will you use? What support system will you lean on?
A deadline –Most people think of a deadline to finish but you also need a deadline to START. Otherwise it will always be tomorrow or next Monday or New Years. So when will you start and what is your finish line?
Now if improved fitness and fat loss is one of your goals then one of the most important areas to start with is what you eat.
But just saying you want to “eat healthier” won’t cut it.
Our 21-day detox is just the program to give you:
Detail; we’ll define exactly what eating healthier is.
A purpose; detoxing your body of possibly inflammatory items that can be ruining your health and stopping your fat loss,
A plan; EXACTLY what to eat and what to avoid for 21-days and the support system to see you through.
A deadline –We start January 20th with a kick-off meeting on January 14th.
Registration opens Monday.
