In my quest to stay up on what’s new in the fitness world and sniff out any useful nutrition tips for my clients and the members of my weight Loss Boot Camp I read about 5 magazines and 1-2 books cover to cover every month.
I have to say, most of the time, what I read is simply a new spin on the basics: Eat clean and work your butt off :).
This morning however, I learned a little tip that all this time even I didn’t know!

Drinking cold water will make you lose weight. And a significant amount of weight at that.
These are the facts:
“When you first drink cold water, the first thing your body does is heat that water up to your body temperature. It takes approximately 50 calories to raise the temperature of eight ounces of water to body temperature. If you drink 8-10 cups of cold water each day, you’ll burn 400-500 calories. This means that you’ll burn one pound of fat every seven to eight days just by drinking cold water!”
I think we can all manage that easy fat loss tip.
So if you fill up a big jug of water in the morning and sip it all day, try keeping some ice cubes in it to keep the water chilly. And ask the waiter for extra ice next time you have water with your lunch out.
With the warm weather right around the corner it’s going to be easier than ever to sip an ice cold glass every couple of hours.
Shiver away!
