6 Proven Steps to Success – How to Achieve Your Fitness Goal
In Steps 1 & 2 that were posted last week, you began to develop a sharp view of EXACTLY what you want to accomplish, and what you intend to do to achieve it.
For example, my goal statement is currently, “I am so happy and grateful now that I have achieved 16% body fat by consistently sticking to my workout and supportive nutrition
plans.”
Now, let’s continue to build upon your statement…
Step 3: Establish a DEFINITE DATE of when you attend to achieve the goal
This is an easy one for me. I’m using the Little Black Dress Transformation Challenge as my timeline. It starts on Monday, November 4th and ends Saturday, December 28th.
So, there you have it, my date is Saturday, December 28th and now my goal statement reads, “By Saturday, December 28th, I am so happy and grateful now that I have achieved 16% body by consistently sticking to my workout and supportive nutrition plans.”
Side note: This date is significant to me as December 28th of 2012 is when I decided to get serious about my own fitness again, practice what I preach and lead by example. On December 28th 2012 I was 29% bodyfat.
What’s your goal date going to be?
I’ll tell you the truth… I kinda cheated…
You see; I knew my goal date when I set my goal. They went hand in hand.
Now, long term I have a bigger goal, and that’s to get back to my lowest body fat point of 14% – something I haven’t’ done in about 10 years – but that doesn’t fit with this timeline, so I’m taking it one goal at a time.
I’ll give you a little trick if your goal is to lose weight:
Determine an ideal weight loss in 8 weeks (length of Little Black Dress Transformation Challenge) using the following formula…
• Males = (Your current body weight X 0.5763%) X 10 weeks
• Females = (Your current body weight X 0.5424%) X 10 weeks
By the way, I got these formulas from nutrition and body transformation guru Dr. John Berardi, someone who I, and any Fitness Professional worth talking to, HIGHLY RESPECT.
Now, will some people see even greater results? Of course.
Let’s see what you can do!
