Fat Flushing Recipes

In just 18 days it will be officially summer. I’m pretty sure the weather will catch on eventually, but until it does, just think of all this weird gloomy stuff as an extension on the time you have to get your summer body on.
This coming Monday, June 6th my 14-day Fat Flush starts and it’s gonna help a lot of women get going in the right direction, and you should be one of them.
I’ve been spending the last few hours creating the nutrition plan that will go with the 2 weeks of Fat blasting workouts and I wanted to share two of the recipes with you.
First is a delicious shake that I like for breakfast (I’ve become a master at blended things lately). The natural sugar from the fruit gives you a nice zip in the morning, and the banana gives you fiber and potassium. And then of course there is the protein to level out your blood sugar and start the day off strong.

 

Eat right at Elk Grove's Booty Boot CampBanana Citrus Shake –Makes 1 serving
• 1/3 cup orange juice
• ½ cup grapefruit juice
• 1 small ripe banana, peeled
• ½ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
• 1 scoop Vanilla Whey protein powder
• Ice cubes
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend thoroughly.

 

When you think of “diet” you think of salad right? Well this is not a “diet” but salads are still a great addition to a healthy eating plan. But you have to be careful not to pack it with too much of the wrong thing and ruin the nutritional content. This delicious and quick salad strikes just the right balance.

• 4 cups arugula
• 1lb Watermelon, chopped
• ½ red onion, sliced
• 4oz Fat-free Feta cheese
• 1lb cooked roast beef, sliced
• ¼ cup red wine vinegar
• ¼ cup olive oil
• ¼ cup Lemon juice
• 1 garlic clove, crushed
• 1 tsp dried parsley

1. Combine arugula, watermelon, onion, cheese and beef in a large bowl. Set aside.
2. In a small bowl, whisk liquid ingredients, garlic and parsley until blended to make dressing.
3. Generously pour dressing over salad and toss to coat. Serve chilled.
