So some of you may remember back in May I had this crazy idea to take a group of women and lead them by the hand, step by step through 6 weeks of an intense, focused weight loss program. There was a major nutrition overhaul where I took matters into my own hands and actually made their food for them, they were held to the highest levels of accountability when it came to their workouts. I was in constant communication with them each and every day. I pretty much took over every aspect of their lives to make sure they walked away with new tools and a new body.
I never did tell you how that turned out huh?
Well for starters, I took on 14 women, but it was so intense 5 couldn’t hang the whole six weeks and dropped out. I was really sad to see them go but not surprised. Don’t take that the wrong way, the women were great women, but maybe just not quite ready for this level of dedication and involvement by me. There was nowhere to hide in this program. No excuses to fall back on. All those emotional hang-ups and bad habits came right to the front in a hurry. It was time to change what they’d always done in order to get something different than what they’d always gotten before. Some just weren’t ready.
Out of the 9 women who completed the entire 6 weeks there were lots of those “aha” moments that lead to lessons learned, milestones reached and amazing results.
I want you to check out one in particular. Her results are amazing and still all these months later bring a broad smile to my face when I look at her before and after pictures. Check ‘em out
Those results did not come easy! Although she looked perfectly fine to most people in her work clothes, she wanted more. She wanted to wear her bikini with pride and feel good about herself again after a lot of years of feeling like she was slipping into a slump.
Let me give you a little case study on Shawna:
- Her career keeps her in her car traveling about 85% of the time. When she’s not in her car, she’s schmoozing clients with fat-filled lunches and sweet treats (that’s pretty much daily). It’s a part of her job.
- She also free-lances as a photographer (she’s really good!) so on the weekends she’s following brides around all day waiting to capture all their special moments (meaning, little time to eat or exercise during the day)
- She openly admits that she LOVES fast food. Not just because it’s quick and easy, but because she actually loves the taste of it.
- She loves wine and normally enjoyed a glass or two every night while cooking or socializing with friends.
- During this 6 weeks she traveled twice, got sick and went through a break-up. One of those obstacles alone usually cause most women to get derailed and spiral into emotional or pity eating. She stayed focused.
- As with all of us, she had lot’s of other external and internal stressors that in the past had held her back from achieving her goal of not looking “6 Months pregnant” as she joked when we first chatted.
We set the firm goal of her being proud to wear her bikini in 6 weeks and well, as you can see, she made it!
She recently emailed me to give me an update on what’s been going on with her since completing my then un-named 6 week program, and here is just part of what she wrote:
“Hi Sarai!
I hope you are doing well and enjoying life! I wanted to give you a quick update on my status since the six week body makeover.
When I was accepted as one of the few ladies to participate I had high hopes that this program would be a jump start to me getting my life in order. A jump start to improving my quality of life. Not that my life was bad before, there were just lingering things that caused me great stress;financial issues, those 15 pounds I’d been hanging onto for the last 10 years, giving up on my passion for photography and just overall fatigue.
I am happy to report that since the program ended in July, I have continued to lose weight and make better choices regarding what I eat. Of course I added back my wine….. but I believe I am living a lifestyle that I can maintain for years to come.
In addition to exceeding my fitness goals…fitting into my bikini without shame…I have made plans to alleviate my other stressors…..and I have decided to pursue my photography business with a much higher level of intensity.
In efforts to pay it forward I have started helping a couple of friends of mine with their health and fitness goals…..It is my hope that my friends will be able to improve their quality of life as I have improved mine.
I am so happy that I had the opportunity to work with you on this program! It has really changed my life! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Shawna”
That email pretty much made my week. I mean that’s what it’s really all about right? Not just the bikini or the Skinny Jeans, but being re-motivated to live life to the full again and being truly happy!
Shawna is just one of the great success that came out of my 6 week program.
In case you’re wondering why it took me so long to tell you about the program, it’s because the second it was completed, I became obsessed with making it better, adding more bells and whistles and supercharging it to get even better results even though I had some great successes with the original program. I was so involved with making it the best program ever, that I forgot almost everything else! Anyway, I am putting the finishing touches on the whole thing as we speak. I’ll tell you all about it real soon.
In the meantime, check out Shawna’s results again and think about not only your own body, but your own life. What could you tackle, resolve and overcome if you truly felt amazing about yourself?
