It’s here! The season of tempting baked goods, limited-time-only coffee house drinks, cold weather that makes you wand stay bundled up, short days and the openly accepted excuse to drop off of all your hard work and progress (or to delay the start of making some until January) –The Holidays.
I’ve got a question for you and I’m betting I know the answer:
Have you ever made one of those promises to yourself during the holidays that you weren’t going to gain a bunch of weight? That this year was gonna be different, and you would start reaching your goals BEFORE new years?
You’ve probably tried it so many years now that it seems like an un-reality at this point, like you could never actually do it.
But here’s what I think, I think that if you had a challenge, something specific to focus on, actual goals to hit every day and week instead of the blanket “I’m going to eat right and exercise” you actually can accomplish that goal this year, 2011. Add to that an awesome group of supportive women doing it right along with you and who can understand why you say no to “just one bite” of the office goodies and why you go workout instead of rushing home to sit on your couch “cause it’s cold and dark out”. If you had all of that (direction, goals and support), you could do it. You would do it. I know you could because last year I took a group of 23 women and between Thanksgiving and Christmas they did just that.
Ok, think about it for a bit cause Monday I have challenge for you and it ends with you feeling good all through the holiday season, going into 2012 feeling healthier and fit, annnd a big ol party where you get to dress up in your LBD (little black dress) and hang out with all the women who worked right alongside you to reach your goal and have a good time.
Alright so I’ve talked quite a bit here so for now let me give you the first step in the ‘5 Steps to Rockin Your LBD’.
Step One: Have a specific goal –go through your closet and find a dress that maybe you can get into but is a bit too tight. Or, pick a dress that you see while out shopping or in a catalog that you would LOVE to wear and feel good in. Now in order for this to work you have to pick something that really excites you. Find the dress that makes you get a chill of excitement when you think of yourself wearing. The one that you first think “psh, yeah right”. THAT’S the dress you need as your goal. The “oh cool this was only $29.99 at Ross” dress won’t cut it when cookies are staring you in the face. Alright, once you find it or dig it out of your closet, take a picture of it. And I’d love to see it! Post it on my facebook fan page http://www.facebook.com/sacramento.bootcamp seriously, post it and let me see what you’re working toward. It gets me excited to see what I can help you with. http://www.facebook.com/sacramento.bootcamp
